Onset Technology Announces Image and Map Support for METAmessage Emergency
Onset Technology, a leading developer of software for smartphones, today announced the addition of image and map support to it’s industry-leading METAmessage Emergency Communications solution for BlackBerry® smartphones.
METAmessage Emergency Communications is an advanced solution for Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Planning. It enables organizations to ensure uninterrupted communications and access to critical information during e-mail and other infrastructure disruptions. The METAmessage solution gives organizations multiple options for communicating with their workforce to maximize the dissemination of important instructions during emergencies.
Avi Koren, chief executive officer at Onset Technology said: “The addition of image and map support will enable organizations to ensure that comprehensive emergency procedures and plans, including building escape routes and maps of congregation points, can now be accessed by BlackBerry smartphone users any time, anywhere.”
METAmessage distributes key documents to all relevant BlackBerry smartphone users and stores the documents locally on the handset for easy access regardless of wireless coverage. METAmessage automatically distributes the latest versions of documents to ensure that all employees have the latest, up-to-date, information at their fingertips.
In addition to Emergency Communications, METAmessage products include: Paging, a solution that allows organizations to leverage smartphone deployments as pager replacements, thereby allowing employees to carry only one device; Professional, which enables BlackBerry smartphone users to access documents located on office networks, printing anywhere, and custom message alerts; and Applications Manager, which makes deploying updates and applications easy for IT managers with large-scale deployments of the BlackBerry® solution.
